Open Question: Find name of song, know the music video?

I kinda remember the music video. There are dancers in a gym like at a school dance, dressed like they are in the 60's and maybe early 70's i guess. There are guys and girls doing cool dances. I know this is not descriptive enough but this is all I can remember. The artist. well the singer, is black or biracial. I think it might be a band. The type of music is like...hip-hop/funk.
